Song lyricsThey're black, they're brown They're up, they're down They're in, they're out They're all about. They're far, they're near They're gone, they're here They're quick and slick They're insincere. Beware, beware be a very wary bear. A heffalump or woozle is very confusle. A heffalump or woozle's very sly, sly, sly, sly. They come in ones and twosles but if they so choosles Before your eyes you'll see them multiply, ply, ply, ply. They're extraordinary so better be wary Because they come in every shape and size, size, size, size. If honey's what you covet you'll find that they love it Because they guzzle up the thing you prize. They're green, they're blue They're pink, they're white They're round, they're square They're a terrible sight. They tie themselves in horrible knots They come in stripes or polka dots. Beware, beware be a very wary bear. They're extraordinary so better be wary Because they come in every shape and size, size, size, size. If honey's what you covet you'll find that they love it Because they'll guzzle up the things you prize. They're black, they're brown They're up, they're down They're in, they're out They're all about. They're far, they're near They're gone, they're here They're quick and slick They're insincere. Beware, beware, beware, beware. |

NotesThe song is included in Winnie The Pooh 1977 Movie Songs In the Winnie the Pooh stories by A. A. Milne, heffalump is a type of elephant-like character. Heffalumps are mentioned, and only appear, in Pooh and Piglet's dreams in Winnie-the-Pooh (1926), and seen again in The House at Pooh Corner (1928). Physically, they resemble elephants. Shepard's illustration shows an Indian elephant. A Woozle is a weasel-like monster imagined by the characters in the third and ninth chapters of Winnie-the-Pooh. No Woozles actually appear in A. A. Milne's original stories, but the book depicts them as living in cold, snowy places. Woozles appear in the song which establishes their fondness for stealing honey and their association with Heffalumps. In The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, a very similar instance occurs after Tigger's imagination introduces both heffalumps and woozles to Pooh very shortly after they meet, though the latter does attempt to correct him. Because of Tigger's words, Pooh stays up throughout the night, guarding his honey. Somehow, it is a continuation of the dream Pink Elephants On Parade song from the Disney movie Dambo (1941) extrapolated to the world of Winnie the Pooh in which the imagination of the creators reaches paradoxes that only people's dreams can match.
