Every night in my dreams I see youEvery night in my dreams
I see you. I feel you.

That is how I know you go on.
Far across the distance and spaces between usFar across the distance
And spaces between us

You have come to show you go on.

wherever you are I believe that the heart does go onNear, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
.
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetimeLove can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime

And never go till we're one.
Love was when I loved you one true time I hold toLove was when I loved you
One true time I hold to

In my life we'll always go on.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
There is some love that will not go away.

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and my heart will go on and onYou are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.

Brief notes

The song won Oscar for Original Song. Three Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television.

The song features both acoustic and electronic instrumentation. It is this version which appears on the Titanic soundtrack album and is also played over the ending credits of the film. The song became a global hit, topping the charts in over twenty countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Voted #14 by AFI's 2004 list as America's Greatest Music in the Movies.

Dion, for whom "My Heart Will Go On" is considered to be she's signature song, agreed to record a demo with the persuasion of her husband René Angélil.

Horner waited until James Cameron was in an appropriate mood before presenting him with the song. After playing it several times, Cameron declared its approval, although worried that he would have been criticized for "going commercial at the end of the movie". Cameron also wanted to appease anxious studio executives and "saw that a hit song from his movie could only be a positive factor in guaranteeing its completion".

The lyrics contain an extra line "There is some love that will not go away" between the third chorus and the final verse on the official Celine Dion website and the Let's Talk About Love booklet.
