Reviews
If I'm working in the studio, I'll be out of bed by 9.30 or 10. I enjoy being at the right place at the right time. I enjoy the event. Even if it's breakfast by myself, I'll set the table. I'll have a good breakfast - eggs, any way except fried because I have a little trouble with my stomach; tea, in a proper pot with an infuser. I drink it without milk and sugar, because as a child I gave up sugar for Lent one year, then milk the next, and I just carried on. I have dinner at around seven. I love food , but I don't eat red meat; it's too rich for me. Sometimes I like to get dressed up and go to a restaurant, to talk and listen to someone else; that takes you out of yourself. I love children's company. Last January I became an aunt twice in one week. That made me think about having children of my own. I think I'd enjoy it. (The Sunday Times, 1992)

"I get inspiration from the countryside," she says. "I live in northwest Donegal on the Atlantic coast, and it's quite wild, with mostly mountains, moors, and brown bogs filled with rushes. There's something terribly breathtaking about it, and it moves me to write melodies that can be uplifting, but which I personally find can be very emotional and draining. (Billboard Magazine, 2000)

Set to turn 40 next year, Enya says she is undergoing many of the pressures women feel at that age. "A lot of women freak about turning this age, especially when you are still not married or don't have children," she says. "In the past three or four years, I was topsy-turvy, putting pressure on myself because I kept thinking work was taking up too much of my time. Lately, I've come to the realisation that I love what I do and I wouldn't change a thing. I love my work and if family happens, that is wonderful. If it doesn't, that's OK too." (The West Australian, 2001)

Enya's quotes:
I have four brothers and four sisters and it was a little bit stifling at times. Although I felt very much loved and protected, I would't ask myself if I really wanted to do something because I was kind of in the middle as the fifth child.
